FLIP FLOP HOP NEWS
What is the Flip Flop Hop?
The Western North Carolina Parrot Head Club, in partnership with the Western North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance (WNCDSA) will host a special evening celebration ~ “The 3rd Annual Flip Flop Hop … Dancing for Down Syndrome … Asheville’s Only Tropical Gala”. The event will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2008, in celebration of the work of both organizations, with all proceeds going to support education, advocacy and special projects of the WNCDSA. This gala will be held at the Orange Peel in downtown Asheville and includes an exciting silent auction with packages that range in price and offer something for every member of the family. Admission is $50.00 per ticket, and includes two drink tickets to accompany the menu selection which offers a variety of island flavors. Doors opened @ 7:00. The sounds of Asheville’s own Caribbean Cowboys Band will provide the tropical spirit, as they take us “Down to the Islands” with their mix of reggae, Buffett, beach, soulful blues & boggie.
Thank You Western North Carolina!!!
The Western North Carolina Parrot Head Club would like to thank all of the event sponsors, volunteers and the WNC Community for their support of "Asheville's 1st Tropical Gala - The Flip Flop Hop". Thanks to you we are happy to announce that the event raised $46,000 for the Western Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance. What an amazing accomplishment. "Fins up Asheville".
